The $100 million Great Wolf Lodge family resort in Grapevine opened to its first guests on Dec. 18. The 450,000-square-foot, 52-acre resort the 10th in Wisconsin-based Great Wolfs chain and the first in the Southwest features 402 all-suite rooms, but an expansion currently under way will add 203 additional suites plus 20,000 square feet of meeting space by this time next year. Guests to Grapevines latest tourist attraction are treated to a North Woods adventure theme, including four restaurants, an 80,000-square-foot indoor park water park sporting nine slides and six pools and an 84,000-square-foot outdoor water park with slides, spas and an arcade. Opening rates will start at $199 per night beginning mid-January. The resort is located on Texas State Highway 26 across from the Gaylord Texas Resort and Convention Center.
