IV. Human Rights Abuses and the War on Drugs

We still have to pay money back to banks, mortgage companies and loan sharks for her until today. If the police come to confiscate our belongings, we will have nothing left to survive.

The daughter was worried about having her possessions confiscated, because it was common during the war on drugs for those killed or arrested to have their money and properties confiscated in a broad interpretation of ThailandÂ’s anti-money laundering law.

Mother accused in baby's drowning faced financial strain

GRANITE BAY, Calif. (AP) - A first-time mother arrested after the apparent drowning death of her 8-day-old baby may have been under financial strain, according to public records.

Kristina Fuelling, 27, was being held in the Placer County Jail on Tuesday after her arrest in the death of her baby, Faith Evelyn. The infant's body was found in a bathroom sink Sunday in the family's rental home in Granite Bay, an affluent suburb east of Sacramento.

Court records show she and her husband, Nicholas Fuelling, had two home foreclosures in 2006. The state also issued a tax lien against Nicholas Fuelling for nearly $54,000, and the Better Business Bureau received numerous complaints about his mold-detection company.

Kristina Fuelling is scheduled to make her first court appearance Wednesday.

City Councilman Floyd Price takes mostly the pragmatic explanation for his selection and leaves unspoken the impressive eye-appeal of the vehicle that he is most often seen driving when he roars past.

Linda DeLeon, who also sits on the City Council, makes no apologies for the car she gave to herself as a kind of retirement gift in 2004. But she alludes to an aura of luxurious power when describing it.
